Organisational Architecture Assessment — the living architecture of an organisation

03 — ORGANISATIONAL ARCHITECTURE ASSESSMENT™

For leadership teams ready to evolve the whole.

A living reading of your organisation as a system. Five dimensions of organisational intelligence, mapped across every layer — so the next move is built on what is actually there, not on what you hope is.

A MULTI-PERSPECTIVE OF ORGANISATIONAL INTELLIGENCE

A map of what holds your organisation in place.

Each dimension is a facet of the same whole — read across every layer, from board to floor, so readiness to evolve becomes visible where it actually lives.

INSIDE THE ASSESSMENT

The five dimensions

Five dimensions of organisational intelligence — measured, layered, and returned to you with the readiness to evolve at each level.

01

Business Architecture

the structural frame

How the organisation is designed to deliver on its purpose — strategy, structure, decision rights, operating model. The assessment maps where the architecture still fits what the business is becoming, and where it has quietly aged past its usefulness.

02

Ownership

where authorship lives

Who genuinely carries what — not on the org chart, but in the lived reality of the organisation. We surface the gaps between formal accountability and actual ownership, and the patterns that keep responsibility from landing where it belongs.

03

Communication

the nervous system

How information, feedback and truth move through the organisation — and where they stop. We map the channels that are alive, the ones that are performative, and the conversations that everyone is having except in the rooms where decisions are made.

04

Human Intelligence

capacity beneath capability

The collective ability of your people to sense, think and act with discernment under complexity. Beyond skills and competencies, this dimension reads the maturity of attention, judgement and presence inside the system.

05

Leadership

HOW THE WHOLE STAYS COHERENT

How the organisation maintains direction without depending on any single individual to maintain it. We read where coherence is held in the system, where it has thinned into role and title, and the gap between the leadership the organisation displays and the leadership that actually keeps it moving when conditions shift.

“When the architecture becomes visible across every layer, the organisation stops repeating itself — and starts moving with what is genuinely ready to come next.”

Common questions

What leadership teams ask before commissioning the assessment

The questions that surface when this engagement is being considered seriously.

We measure five dimensions of organisational intelligence — business architecture, ownership, communication, human intelligence and the underlying spectrum that holds them together. Across each dimension we map where your organisation currently sits, what is quietly holding it back, and what it is already ready to move toward.

The assessment goes beneath a snapshot of culture or engagement. It reveals the architecture underneath — the structural patterns that explain why certain dynamics keep repeating, and which layers of the organisation are ready to evolve while others remain in place.

Most existing diagnostics measure symptoms — engagement scores, satisfaction levels, behavioural preferences. They tell you the temperature without explaining the climate. This assessment maps the architecture underneath those numbers: why certain patterns persist, what your organisation is sensing but cannot yet name, and which leverage points actually create movement.

We do not replace what you have already done. We integrate it. The reports already in your drawers — the employee satisfaction surveys, the communication audits, the leadership 360s — become part of the picture, not data you have to gather again.

The assessment unfolds across roughly two months. During that time we conduct individual conversations with the board, the CEO, the full leadership team and HR — typically a one-hour interview per person, scheduled around their availability. We review the organigram, the existing reports and any prior diagnostics. There is no broad survey for the wider organisation to complete.

The depth of engagement is calibrated to scale — a 200-person company looks different from a 15,000-person one — but the principle holds: we go where the architecture lives, and that is at the top of the organisation.

It is the distinction between wanting to change and being able to. Many leaders genuinely want their organisation to evolve, but find themselves unable to make it happen — because the resistance lives in their own nervous system, in their leadership team's defences, or in the inherited patterns of the organisation itself. Willingness is not capacity.

The readiness-to-evolve score maps this across each layer — board, CEO, leadership team, middle management, the floor. It reveals where the energy is genuinely available for change, and where the work is to build that capacity first. Without this picture, transformation plans tend to fail in predictable ways.

Every interview is conducted under strict confidentiality. What is shared with us in an individual conversation stays with us. We synthesise findings at the level of the system — patterns, blockers, dynamics — never as a list of who said what. The leadership team receives a picture of the architecture, not a transcript of vulnerabilities.

When something genuinely needs to be raised with a specific person, that conversation is handled directly and discreetly. We have done this work long enough to know what protects trust and what destroys it.

A genuine sense that the current architecture can no longer carry what is coming next. Not a desire to be reassured. Not a wish for a tidy report. The assessment is built for organisations willing to look honestly at what shows up — and to act on what becomes visible. If you are not ready to act, the assessment will create friction without resolution.

Many leaders begin with the Soul Architecture Scan™ first, so the foundation at the top is clear before the whole organisation is brought into focus. Recommended, not required.

A comprehensive report mapping where your organisation sits across the five dimensions, the readiness-to-evolve picture per layer, the structural blockers we have identified, and the hidden potential we have surfaced. The report integrates what was already in your drawers with what the assessment newly reveals.

The engagement concludes with an executive debrief — typically half a day with the leadership team — where the architecture is returned to you with clarity, and the next intelligent step is named. From there, you decide. Some leadership teams take what they have and integrate it themselves. Others continue with us into the transformation that follows.
